Fantastic weather is what we expect from summer. People naturally gravitate outside when the temperatures are warm or mild, and the sun is shining. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the joy of summer and the delight of spending time with friends and family. Schaaf Floral is thrilled to be a part of the annual Make Someone Smile® Week.

Make Someone Smile® Week is a yearly event that the floral industry participates in during the week of July 19 to July 25. This will be the sixteenth year of this industry-wide charity event. We want to inspire and encourage our customers to reflect on people they know who may be living in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or people they know who are sick, homebound, or simply down on their luck. During this week, we encourage you to make a difference in someone’s life by making them smile with one universal thing that is always sure to make someone smile – flowers.

We’ve come up with some suggestions that we think are ideal gifts to cheer someone up or make him or her smile. Feel free to use our suggestions, or contact us to help you design something for a specific person you hope to cheer up with a gift of flowers.

Be Happy

We fill Teleflora’s Be Happy® mug with bright yellow roses and classic daisies. We are certain that this delightful arrangement represents the essence of happiness in a mug. This arrangement is the signature bouquet for the crusade, and it has been the face of this campaign since it began nearly sixteen years ago. The fact that it is still available is a testament to its success at making people smile.

Our Beary Bouquet is another summery arrangement that comes with a smile when it is delivered. We fill a clear glass vase with happy sunflowers, pink roses, stargazer lilies and add accents of greenery. A fuzzy white bear is hugging the vase, and we’re positive that this little guy will lift anyone’s spirits, regardless of their circumstances.

Give someone a dose of summer that is as fresh as if you just picked it from your very own flower garden. Our Sunshine and Smiles arrangement are a combination of colorful spray roses, Gerbera daisies, and larkspur. We are certain that the mere sight of these delightfully bright flower colors and the combination of gorgeous blooms together will lift someone’s spirits and make them smile.
