At Schaff Floral, we’d be hard pressed to pick our favorite season for flowers, but winter, with its glorious palette of whites, is definitely at the top of the list.
We love an arrangement that mimics the snowy scene outside and yet makes us feel all of the warmth of the season inside. White arrangements, far from being austere, are comforting and elegant. We like to see them paired up with some of the more traditional designs we see for the holidays, with their rich reds and greens.
A sweet bouquet like our New Year is deceptively complex. Far from simple and yet the essence of simplicity, this is a classic arrangement that utilizes a range of flowers, among them lilies and roses. Hydrangea provides a soft pop of blue that gives the design its depth. This feels both free-form and contained, the best of both worlds.
Display this in your kitchen or on the dining room table, or give it as a gift to someone who needs to beat the winter blues. One reason white flowers are so popular during this time of year is that they offer a lot of light. Given our short days and long nights, we welcome a palette that casts its own glow and inspires us to look ahead to the future.
